Texting and Driving - Saturday

"I expect to pass through the world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer it, for I shall not pass this way again."

TURN UP THE VOLUME.
What Happened?!............ ?!!
Everyone needs to see this one - this is pretty awesome, and it only takes a second! Hong Kong movie theater asks its patrons to leave their cellphones ON when they enter the movie. Using that, Volkswagen made an eye opening ad. More than 1.5 million views in 3 days!

Such a powerful video. I wish we could make all this carelessness go away! No phone call, text, or email is that important that it can't wait until you at least pull over somewhere safe. I don't even get my phone out of my purse when I'm driving. My passenger's lives and my life is worth too much.

Around here texting while driving is illegal but I'm sure to see it several time while out on even just a short trip. And I live in the country where I don't see a lot of cars! It's not just the kids either, it's the business people, the soccer moms and the grandmas!

Thanks for posting!

I live here in SE Michigan, high population, Everyone driving is using a cell phone or texting, while driving, at a stop sign, or at a red light. I have to honk my horn to let them know that the light has turned green. You have to drive super defensively. People have allowed this thing to take over their common sense!

I totally agree!

This morning as I was driving to the God Bless America Prayer rally a woman about hit me because she was on her phone. If there had not been a shoulder on the road, I would have been creamed by her big truck.

About 8 years ago at the drive-thru at the bank, I had sent in my deposit and was sitting there waiting. All of a sudden "bang" and my car was knccked forward about 3 feet. The girl who hit me was talking to her mom on her cell phone and she got out and told me "It's OK because I was talking to my mom." Ha! It was not OK!

Thanks for sharing that video, Christie! Texting while driving is one of the main causes of car accidents. It's important to keep in mind that while mobile technology is making our lives easier, there are risks to be aware of. We should always pay attention when driving. All the best to you!
