Sunday Spiritual - Faith

A man went to his barber to have his hair cut and beard trimmed. As the barber worked, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" the customer asked.

"Why you just have to go out on the street to see that God doesn't exist. If He did, there wouldn't be any sick people; any abandoned children; or any pain and suffering. Tell me, if God existed, wouldn't He not allow that?"

The customer, not wishing to get into further confrontation, said nothing more. After he paid, he walked out the shop ... only to be confronted by an individual whose hair was unkempt and who had a dirty scraggly beard. The customer immediately returned to the barber shop.

"I have just discovered that barbers don't exist."

The barber replied "Of course we do."

"No," the customer replied, "if barbers did, there wouldn't be anyone with unkempt hair or dirty beards."

The barber replied: "The reason that man has unkempt hair and a dirty beard is because he hasn't come to see me."

The customer responded: "Exactly"
