Monday I had a wreck. Flipped my truck and was pinned in. Thankful for the Muskogee Fire Rescue cutting me out. God had His hands on me protecting my body.
Smartphones (like newer iPhones and Google Pixels) detect car crashes using a combination of motion sensors, microphones, and GPS to measure sudden changes in speed, direction, and cabin pressure. If an impact is severe, the phone sounds an alarm and gives you a 10-to-20-second window to cancel the alert before automatically calling 911.
This was great because I was pinned. Had no idea where phone was because truck flipped over and scattered everything. What great technology!

Oh my goodness, Jacki! I am so glad that you're okay. I didn't know that about the phones, so I will tell my folks - who just got a new google phone. I hope that you're resting; it takes a few days to start feeling it. Many prayers and good thoughts headed your way. xxoo
Oh my gosh Jacki - So glad you are ok. God definitely was looking over you. I am constantly complaining about new technology but it truely can be a great tool in certain circumstances. Heal quickly. Diane
Oh, my goodness. That could have turned out extremely bad. Praise the Lord you are ok and hopefully not major injuries.
We never know what is in our path. Hopefully you were checked out. I'm sure you are extremely sore.
Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
What kind of phone do you have. I didn't know about that feature, but could save a life for sure.
So sorry this happened to you, Jacki. But am so happy your one gave and alert and the F&R were able to get you out safely. Hope you are getting less sore every day and that the bruises are fading. Prayers to you . . .
I have an iPhone 16. I heard Siri say I appeared to be involved in a crash. That I had so many seconds to reply on phone and then she’d call 911. They answered and Siri gave the map coordinates for my exact location. It was on speaker I told the operator I was pinned and couldn’t move. I had no idea where my phone was. I was underneath 4 oxygen tanks. So glad they didn’t blow up. Gas was pouring out right by my face.
Another thing is we have medical emergency contacts in our phones. You add your meds conditions and contacts and relationships. When 911 is called they will be contacted too.
